Today Pandora is rolling out a new update that brings two
pre-existing smartphone features over to the tablet UI, alongside a few
other changes that effect both tablet and smartphone users.
So what’s new for tablet users? While smartphone users have had the sleep timer for a while and an alarm clock since earlier this year, both features are now being added to the tablet UI. For those that don’t know, the sleep timer works by shutting down Pandora after 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The alarm clock is pretty self-explanatory as well, though Pandora has now added a snooze feature for both smartphone and tablet users.
In addition to the sleep timer and alarm changes, Pandora is also introducing personalized notifications for both tablet and smartphone users. This means you’ll get notifications when new music is added to the database or when your friends comment. As to be expected, there are also several unspecified bug fixes in the latest version of the app.
Now if only Pandora could give us music controls in the notification shade (one can dream at least). To grab the new Pandora update you’ll want to head on over to Google Play. Anyone get the new Pandora update yet, if so, what do you think of the changes? Anything else not mentioned in the change-log? Let us know in the comments below.
